One of the main targets of the CeSSRA training activities is social scientists wishing to enhance their research training, known as “CeSSRA Fellows.” CeSSRA Fellows will participate in the workshops and training programs and will work on the research project. CeSSRA Fellows will be matched with a faculty mentor either in Kampala or in Cleveland. They will work with this mentor to develop their research interest, including proposal and manuscript preparation.

In February 2008, the first cohort of ten fellows were selected for mentorship and training in the social sciences through CeSSRA. Their two year fellowship focused on capacity and skills building, tailored to each of the fellow’s individual needs. In January 2010, the second cohort of fellows was selected for training.
