Gabi\u2019s capstone project examined the relationship between Palatal Myoclonus (PM)\u2013a rare movement disorder characterized by rapid spasms of the palatal muscles\u2013and dysphagia. Gabi worked on this project from August through December of 2024, and at CWRU\u2019s December Intersections, she was awarded 1st place in the Social Sciences category. Gabi will be starting a doctoral program <\/span>in occupational therapy in the fall.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-609 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/artscimedia.case.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/226\/2025\/02\/02161419\/Screen-Shot-2025-02-02-at-4.12.46-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"315\" height=\"224\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Elishka Bailey &#8217;25:\u00a0<\/strong><em>Dysphagia in Patients with the Behavioral Variant of Frontotemporal Dementia: A Systematic Review\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Elishka is majoring in Communication Sciences. Her capstone project was a systematic review on dysphagia in people diagnosed with the behavioral variant of frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD).
