Hi all, no pic from me this am because I'm camera deficient. It's 5:28 am and like the rest of my crew we're getting all packed up to catch a shuttle to the Antarctic terminal in half an hour. Got my favorite tea in me, had a hollywood shower, and in an hour or so will have my party clothes on!
Had a near miss with one of our greatest veterans, Shaun Norman yesterday. He was in Christchurch with family, and we tried to meet up but kept missing each other. Shaun has guided several of our teams over the past 15 years, he's an old friend of John's with perhaps the longest Antarctic pedigree I've ever met (stretching back to dog teams in the early 60's). Look him up!
Weather looks spectacular here, but no idea what it's like in McMurdo. Time to go seal things up one last panicky time and get on the road
