First Night in the Field

We sent this blog two days ago from the field, but it doesn’t appear that the technology worked, so here is a recap. Woo-hoo! The planets aligned and we finally got our C130 flights out to the CTAM transition area. The scenery going across Antarctica was fantastic and after and hour and a half we arrived at CTAM. The first four arrived around 4:30 in the afternoon and got busy setting up camp. They also had to unearth (unsnow?) gear cached from a previous trip. The rest of the team followed at about 8:30 in the evening. We quickly got the rest of the tents set up and called it a night. Caption 1: Our LC130 at CTAM.
