Today we got our last major haul of cargo, including two skidoos and lots of gas for them, via the Basler. The Basler folks are remarkably efficient at getting cargo on and off of their plane and they also couldn’t be any nicer–I’m guessing it’s because they’re Canadians (but not from Winnipeg, as they made clear). The weather was lovely and they didn’t have a tight schedule for the rest of the day, so we had them over for lunch in our science tent. From left to right we have Kaizer (with a Canadian “zed” that I totally screwed up last post, my bad), Emily, Will, Con, Morgan, Cindy, Ellen, and me (Nina) invisible in the corner documenting it all. It was really great getting to know them and we’re looking forward to their next visit in a week or so when we move camps in a so-called flying traverse. We’promised them fresh baked cookies upon their return. Anything for our awesome Basler buddies! –Posted by Nina from the curry-smelling environs of Sparkle City, 20 December 2015
