As many ANSMET fans are aware, Jim Karner is our science lead and Brian Rougeaux is one of our mountaineers. Jim directs our science operations and makes sure we’re on task, while Brian ensures our safety throughout. They are both naturally modest types and don’t frequently appear in pictures or lead blog posts, but I would like to assure their friends and families that they are both alive and well here in Antarctica. Here they are in their tent, where Jim is demonstrating the proper technique for making snow water. It’s all in the wrist–watch and learn from an expert, my friends.
