John and I are scheduled for put-in today for the pre-season trip, but … you know … weather. Currently the time of departure is “TBD” with instructions to call fixed-wing after 12:15. The good news: I’ll be able to get lunch in the galley today! In the meantime, my gear is anxiously waiting for me on my dorm bed, neatly arranged into three categories: “Wear me!”, “Take me!” and “What? You are leaving me behind?” Sadly, some of my gear is inappropriate for use on the Polar Plateau. I do not plan to ride around on the skidoo wearing the shorts I brought for use in New Zealand, for example.
