Hi, this is a test of new hardware for blogging from the deep field. We’re getting ready for a new ANSMET field season due to start in about 8 weeks. This year we’ll be using iPod Touch devices for photography and preparation of text, and Iridium Go! devices to send the blog entries over the iridium satellite system. Pictures will be small because bandwidth is slow (less than 10 kb/minute) and expensive (about $1.50 per minute). But it’s a blog from deep in the central Transantarctic Mountains, so no complaints.
