A hike up Ob Hill
The first of our team is due to deploy on Friday to CTAM (Central Trans-Antarctic Mountains), and we’re excited to get out there! Friday is actually one day later than originally scheduled, due to delays in getting the groomers out to CTAM to prepare the runway. So we had some extra time to enjoy in McMurdo, and some of us took the opportunity to climb Ob Hill (short for Observation Hill), a ~750-foot volcanic features at the edge of ‘town.’ The loose rock can make the climb a bit tricky, but the summit offers great views of McMurdo and the surrounding landscape.

Now to get ready for ‘bag drag’, taking our remaining baggage tomorrow (Thursday) evening to be checked for the flight to CTAM on Friday morning, . . .
