Happy New Year from the field! We went out to do more foot search today. We walked “Meteorite City” area and found 7 more meteorites. So beautiful walking on blue ice area (picture attached). Cracks, volcano ash band, a lot of interesting texture on ice and snow… So happy to be able to work in this beautiful area. Tomorrow is another exciting day. Jim and Alex will be joining us. Hoping weather is nice both here and in McMurdo, so we can reunited as team of 6 and start our real season!! Fingers cross. Minako, January 1, 2017.
